Clearwater Paper has terminated its Lewiston mill manager.
In a statement released Friday, the company said Donnie Ely “was removed from his position, effective immediately, and is leaving Clearwater Paper.” The company declined to provide additional details surrounding the circumstances of Ely’s departure.
Union members alleged that Ely showed a sign with the words “Poor Baby’s” when he drove past a Tuesday rally held to bring attention to ongoing contract talks.
Ely apologized in a four-paragraph letter Wednesday. (Lewiston Tribune)
