A semi-truck and trailer crashed into the Salmon River north of Riggins yesterday (Tue) afternoon.
Idaho State Police say at about 4:15pm, 60-year-old James Alden of Orting, Washington, was traveling north along U.S. Highway 95 about 11 miles outside Riggins, when he lost control of the big rig and drove off the right shoulder, down a steep embankment. The semi-tractor and trailer came to rest in the Salmon River, about 70 feet from the roadway.
Alden was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the crash, which remains under investigation. (Idaho State Police)
