The Cascade Collegiate Conference released the 2022 baseball all-conference team on Friday and seven Warriors took home All-CCC recognition.

Trent Sellers was voted the Cascade Conference WVT Laboratory Pitcher of the Year, and Jake Taylor earned Coach of the Year honors for the third time in his career. Four LC State defenders also garnered Gold Glove honors.

Sellers, a junior right-handed pitcher from Kennewick, has been a dominant force on the mound for the Warriors. In 81.1 innings pitched, he has 110 strikeouts and 10 wins – both of which lead the CCC and rank 15th and sixth, respectively, in the NAIA. Sellers boasts a 1.77 ERA (second in the CCC and 10th in the NAIA), has caught 32 batters looking and holds opponents to a .176 batting average.

Taylor is in his fourth year at the helm of the Warriors and picks up his third CCC Coach of the Year honor after leading LC State to its second-straight regular-season championship. Under Taylor, LC State leads the CCC in batting average (.334), slugging (.566), on-base percentage (.431), runs scored (515), hits (609), RBIs (475), doubles (158), home runs (81), and total bases (1,032). On the mound, the Warriors are the top team in ERA (2.83), opposing batting average (.223), strikeouts (535) and wins (48).

The other six Warriors on the All-Conference Team include: Pitcher Dawson Day, first baseman Luke White, shortstop Riley Way, outfielders Sam Linscott and Aidan Nagle, and catcher Justin Mazzone.

Additionally, four LC players were Gold Glove winners for their play defensively, including pitcher Eric Chavarria, Riley Way, Justin Mazzone and Sam Linscott.

The Warriors host the Cascade Conference Baseball Championship Tournament that begins Monday at Harris Field. LC will meet #4 seed Corban Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. with coverage on FM 95.5 and AM 950 KOZE. The game will also be streamed free online at koze.com.
