Former Lewis-Clark State star runner Sam Atkin will compete in the World Track and Field Championships for Great Britain this Thursday in Eugene, Oregon.
Atkin will compete in the 5,000m on Thursday night. Following the World Championships, Atkin will compete for Team England at the Commonwealth Games where he’ll race in the 10,000m on Aug. 2nd and in the 5,000m on Aug. 6th.
In May, the Lincolnshire native became the British Champion in the 10,000m with a time of 27:31.98.
After competing at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, the nine-time NAIA All-American and four-time National Champion, picked up his first professional contract earlier this year with Puma.
Atkin was inducted into the Warrior Athletic Association Hall of Fame last spring.
