Lewiston city officials have announced Bryden Canyon Golf Course will be under new management beginning October 1st.
The municipal course has been under the management of Jeff Briney for the past 22 years. On August 30th, Briney notified city officials he planned to step away from the operations at the end of September. Briney, who is president of Golf Fun, had been operating the course on a month-to-month basis for the past two years.
The city has already chosen San Francisco-area based CourseCo to oversee Bryden Canyon for six months, as part of an effort to ensure day-to-day activities at the course continue without delay.
CourseCo manages 41 golf courses in the West, including Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman.
After the interim agreement with CourseCo ends, the management of the course will be put out to bid and CourseCo will be eligible to submit a proposal if it chooses.
New rates for passes, carts, range balls and daily fees that would start October 1st will go before Lewiston’s city council for a vote September 26th. (Lewiston Tribune)
