
Addison McKarcher poured in a season-high 21 points in leading the Lewiston High girls basketball team to a 59-28 win over Kellogg on the opening day of the Avista Holiday Tournament at Lewis-Clark State College. Zoie Kessinger added 12 points as the Bengals improved to 4-5 on the year and advanced in the winners bracket to face Lapwai in a semi-final contest tonight.
Meanwhile, Carson Way scored 25 points and the Bengal defense was on point in a 61-29 win over the Kellogg boys. Drew Hottinger also finished in double figures scoring with 12 points as Lewiston improved to 6-1. The Bengals advanced into a semi-final game tonight at 7:30 against unbeaten Lapwai.
Both Bengal games will be broadcast live in the LC Valley on The River 105.1 FM and streamed free online at bengalsports.com.
In other tournament games: Both Clarkston teams advanced with the girls topping Grangeville and the boys beating Pendleton. And both Lapwai teams won their opening games over Moscow.
