Lewis-Clark State’s London Kirk and Christian Bothwell have been named Cascade Conference Men’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week. It’s the second week in-a-row the Warriors have won the weekly awards.
Kirk shattered his school record in the 400m with an A standard time of 48.10. The time ranks fourth in the NAIA currently and earned Kirk a second-place finish at the meet. He tied his LC State record in the 200m with a time of 21.99 to finish fifth at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial Open.
Bothwell finished fifth in the heptathlon with a career-best mark of 4589, the second-highest in school history. The total ranks ninth in the NAIA currently. Bothwell had personal-best marks in the long jump (6.52m) and 60m hurdles (9.07).
The Indoor Season continues Saturday when the LC teams compete in Spokane at the Whitworth Open.
