OLYMPIA, WA – Washington State lawmakers heard public testimony about a bill that would add performance-based pathway options for students to meet the pathway requirement for graduation. House Bill 1308 was requested by the Washington State Board of Education and sponsored by Representative Monica Jurado Stonier (D-Vancouver) and southeast Washington State Representative Mary Dye (R-Pomeroy) is a secondary sponsor.
“My HB 1308 will establish a new option that enables students to meet graduation pathway requirements by completing a performance-based learning experience where they apply their knowledge and skills in the real-world,” Stonier says.
CTE’s are Career & Technical Education programs that support local middle and high school programs which provide 21st-century, academic and technical skills.
