A civil commitment patient from Eastern State Hospital walked away from the facility yesterday evening.  A search was conducted, but he was not located. If you have seen 21-year-old Silas W. Finley, you are asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233 or 911, reference #10018243.

Yesterday evening at approximately 6:40 pm, Eastern State Hospital staff reported Finley had walked away from the facility.  Deputies responded and searched the area/neighborhood, but he was not located.

“Finley may have boarded an STA bus and possibly dropped off near Cedar Street and 2nd Avenue (Spokane), but this information has not yet been confirmed. A search of that area and other known locations were unsuccessful,” a press release states. “Finley has a history of self-harm, mental disorders, and substance abuse.  Due to this, his behavior could be erratic, and he may pose a threat to himself or others.”

Once located, Finley faces an Escape 3rd-degree charge, a gross misdemeanor, for walking away from ESH.

Finley is described as a white male, 6’00”, 150 lbs, with brown hair and eyes.
