VANCOUVER, B.C. – LC State Baseball fell in the series finale and dropped the Cascade Conference series with UBC on Sunday. The Warriors fell 3-1 in the contest and 3-1 in the series. The pitching staff had another strong outing, allowing only two earned runs, but the offense was quiet throughout the weekend.
With the loss, LC State is 19-7 overall and 4-4 in CCC action.
Drake George allowed two hits through the first three innings before Leo Rivera put the Warriors on top in the fourth. A walk to Dominic Signorelli was followed by back-to-back singles by Jack Sheward and Rivera to give LC a 1-0 lead.
UBC responded with two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to gain a 3-1 advantage.
Warrior pitching shut down the Thunderbirds and allowed two hits through the rest of the contest. The LC State offense was unable to respond.
George went four innings and gave up two runs on five hits. He struck out three batters. Cole Wilkinson went an inning and fanned two. He gave up an unearned run. Joe Ball went 1.2 innings and Bryson Spagnuolo threw the final 1.1 innings with a strikeout.
Carter Booth tallied two hits and Rivera drove in the lone run.
