The Clarkston School District has announced another commitment to donate to the Clarkston High School capital campaign.

Gary and Jutta Hughes have committed to a $250,000 donation to help offset costs associated with the Innovation Hub portion of the proposed building. An overhaul of the “T Building,” an Innovation Hub that will be the location of the Computer Lab, Robotics Lab, and Microsoft Certification Applications classroom, as well as the Business Incubator and Community Pantry.

The donation is contingent upon voter approval of a $79.4 million bond to approve reinvestment in the century-old high school campus. The proposed design retains the Adams Building, Auditorium, and Technology Building, and seeks to construct new educational facilities on the football field to the east of the Auditorium.

Ballots have been mailed to registered voters and the voting period closes at 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 25.
