MOSCOW, ID – The Latah County Prosecutor’s Office is adding more legal power prior to the preliminary hearing in the case against University of Idaho murder suspect Bryan Kohberger. According to KXLY, a Latah County judge this week granted the prosecutor’s request to add Deputy Attorney General Ingrid Batey and Deputy Attorney General Jeff Nye to the prosecution team.

In his petition requesting the aid, Latah County Prosecutor William Thompson said he is seeking assistance “in order to utilize the expertise and additional resources of the Office of the Attorney General.”

Their addition comes as both the prosecution and defense prepare for Kohberger’s preliminary hearing in June. In Idaho, the preliminary hearing is used to determine if there’s enough evidence for a defendant to go to trial.
