LEWISTON, ID – An early afternoon thunderstorm over the Lewis-Clark Valley dumped hail and rain, and delivered dozens of often loud lightning strikes. Rescue personnel were called to a few ground strikes in Lewiston and Clarkston which caused minor fires. There were also several areas of street flooding. According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, the storm rolled in from the south.

...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southwestern Latah,
northwestern Nez Perce, east central Garfield, southeastern Whitman
and north central Asotin Counties through 200 PM PDT...
At 130 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Clarkston, moving north at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Lewiston, Clarkston, Genesee, Clarkston Heights-Vineland, West
Clarkston-Highland, Colton, Uniontown, and Clarkston Heights.

U.S. Highway 95 in Idaho between mile markers 306 and 331, and
between mile markers 337 and 341.
U.S. Highway 12 in Idaho between mile markers 0 and 3.
U.S. Highway 12 in Washington between mile markers 424 and 434.
U.S. Highway 195 in Washington between mile markers 0 and 13.
