Stupid Criminal: A Guy Robbed a Place with a Staple Gun and Only Stole Dog Food

daily-dumbass

A 42-year-old guy named Gerold Hopkins walked into a Schnucks grocery store in St. Louis last Saturday . . . threatened the manager with a STAPLE GUN . . . stole one small bag of DOG FOOD . . . then fled the scene on a BIKE.  (???)

Here’s how all that went down:  The manager saw him walking out with the dog food and stopped him at the door.  But Gerold refused to give it back and claimed he had a gun.

It was really just a staple gun wrapped in electrical tape.  But he pulled it out, threatened to shoot the manager, and it looked real enough.  So they let him go.

They watched him ride off on a bicycle, and cops caught up with him nearby.

They found the staple gun and dog food in his backpack.  He’s facing serious charges and VERY serious jail time.  Twist #4:  One report we saw said 10 to 30 YEARS for a Class A felony . . . maybe even LIFE.  (???)
