OAKESDALE, WA – A 44-year-old homeless man from Moscow was arrested on drug charges and a felony warrant out of Idaho after Whitman County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a welfare check north of Oakesdale. According to a press release, deputies responded to the area of Carter Road at around 8:14 p.m. Saturday for a vehicle that had been parked in the same location all day, and the driver was slumped over.
Deputies arrived on the scene and spoke with the driver who said his vehicle had broken down and he was waiting on a ride from a friend.
“The driver of the vehicle provided a name to Deputies and after further investigating Deputies determined the driver of the vehicle was not who he said he was. Deputies determined the driver of the vehicle was Tyson M. Farley (44 yoa), a homeless resident of Moscow, Idaho who currently had a felony warrant for his arrest out of Latah County, Idaho for Possession Of Controlled Substance,” the press release says.
Farley was arrested for his warrant and during the search incident to arrest, three blue fentanyl pills were found on his person.
Farley was transported to the Whitman County Jail and booked on his felony warrant out of Idaho.
Yesterday, deputies investigated the case further after receiving more information and were granted a search warrant for Farley’s vehicle that had been towed from the scene the previous night.
Deputies executed the search warrant on the vehicle and during the search found the following items: 240 blue fentanyl pills, two balloons each containing 34 blue fentanyl pills, and a clear plastic bag containing one blue fentanyl pill and methamphetamine.
Additional charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent To Deliver and Making A False Statement to a Public Servant were added to Farley’s initial booking. He will make his first court appearance in Whitman County Superior Court today.
