AHSAHKA, ID – Water discharges from Dworshak Dam will gradually decrease during the month of September. Flows are currently 9,200 cubic feet per second for summer temperature operations, but beginning tomorrow, Dworshak will decrease discharge to 1,600 cfs by the end of the month.

As the weather transitions from summer to fall, Dworshak releases will decrease proportionally. Dworshak Reservoir is currently at an elevation of 1537.7 feet and will draft to a target elevation of 1520 feet on Oct. 1.
Decreases from Dworshak Dam will occur between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. at a rate of 500 cfs per hour. This rate of change will keep downstream river stage fluctuations below one foot per hour as measured at the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Clearwater River Near Peck, ID (gage #13341050).
Boaters, anglers and other people using waterways both in Dworshak Reservoir and below the dam on the Clearwater River should be aware of changes in water elevation and volume of flow.
