Lewis-Clark State Cross Country had both teams represented in Thursday’s NAIA Top 25 polls, with the men rejoining the group at No. 18 and the women climbing one spot to No. 19. Thursday’s rankings are the final sets before the conference championships on Nov. 3.
Since the previous polls, Warrior Cross Country competed at the LC State Invitational and found success on the home course. The LC State women were the top NAIA team, led by Chloe Overberg as the top NAIA finisher, and the men placed ahead of two higher-ranked NAIA teams at the meet. The women topped then-No. 16 Rocky Mountain (Mont.) while the men finished ahead of then-No. 21 Northwest and (RV) Rocky.
The Cascade Conference continued to be one of the top conferences in the polls for both genders, highlighted by the College of Idaho women climbing to the top spot in the rankings. Southern Oregon remained No. 7 and Eastern Oregon is receiving votes.
On the men’s side, C of I moved up six spots to No. 3 and EOU fell one to No. 6. Corban made a 10-spot jump to No. 14 while SOU and Northwest fell out of the top 25 but are receiving votes.
The 2023 Cascade Conference Cross Country Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, are slated for Nov. 3 in Caldwell, Idaho.
