The University of Idaho women’s soccer team will travel north to Spokane to take on #8 seed Gonzaga in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
Idaho which is 12-4-2, finished the season with an historic run to it’s first Big Sky conference tournament championship to qualify for the program’s first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Gonzaga is 13-3-2, and earned an automatic bid to the tournament following their first-ever regular season title in the West Coast Conference. The Zags are ranked 19th in the nation and recently defeated No. 15 Santa Clara 1-0. This is the second time Gonzaga has earned a bid to the tournament, the first was in 2005.
The winner of the match will go on to face the winner of No. 1 UCLA and UC Irvine next weekend in Los Angeles.
