
SEATTLE, WA - Seattle Mariners President of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto, Director of Player Development Justin TooleM and Senior Director of High Performance Rob Scheidegger announced today the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers staff for the 2024 season:

· Corey Measner, Strength & Conditioning Coach
· Aric Quinney, Athletic Trainer
· Dan LaBerry, Athletic Trainer
Russell returns as Triple-A Tacoma manager after leading the Rainiers during the 2023 season. Last season, Tacoma finished with a 77–73 record under Russell.
Prior to his current role, Russell most recently served as bench coach in the big leagues with the Baltimore Orioles from 2011–18. Russell brings nearly 30 years of coaching and managing experience to the role, including a 3-year stint as manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates from 2008–10.
The former catcher played 10 seasons (1984–93) in the Majors with Philadelphia (1984–88), Atlanta (1989) and Texas (1990–93). He caught Nolan Ryan’s 6th career no-hitter on June 11, 1990.
O’Malley returns for his 5th season in the Mariners organization and his first as Rainiers Hitting Coach. He spent the previous 2 seasons (2022–23) as Hitting Coach for Double-A Arkansas. Prior to that, he served as Hitting Coach for High-A Everett in 2021.
O’Malley’s professional playing career spanned 13 seasons, including parts of 3 Major League seasons with Los Angeles-AL (2014) and Seattle (2015–16). The native of Richland, Washington was originally selected by Tampa Bay in the 5th round of the 2006 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Southridge High School in Kennewick.
Cuevas (high-row KWAY-vas) returns for his 2nd season in the Mariners organization and as Tacoma’s Pitching Coach. He spent the previous 8 seasons (2015–22) as a pitching coach in the Los Angeles Angels organization. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native played 6 seasons (2004–08, ’10) in the minor leagues in the Braves and Royals organizations, going 26–39 in 99 games (78 starts).
Farris returns for his 6th season in the Mariners organization and his 2nd with Tacoma, his first as Bench Coach. Last season, he served as the Rainiers Infield/Baserunning Coach.
In 2022, he served as Manager for the High-A Everett AquaSox. In 2021, he served as Manager for Low-A Modesto. The Sacramento, California native played in 9 minor league seasons (2007–15) and appeared in 14 Major League games with the Milwaukee Brewers from 2011–12.
Measner joins the Mariners organization as Tacoma’s Strength & Conditioning Coach. He brings over 10 years of experience in performance and strength and conditioning roles to the Rainiers, including as Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coach for the San Diego Padres from 2017–21.
Quinney begins his 5th season in the Mariners organization and his 2nd as Athletic Trainer for Triple-A Tacoma. He spent the previous 2 seasons (2021–22) as Athletic Trainer for the High-A Everett AquaSox.
LaBerry enters his first season with the Rainiers and his 4th in the Mariners organization. In 2023, while serving as Athletic Trainer for High-A Everett, he was named the Northwest League Trainer of the Year.
