Detectives from the Quad Cities Drug Task Force arrested a Clarkston man last week for felony charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl/Heroin.

69-year-old Robert Bergamo was taken into custody last Thursday.

According to a press release, detectives had been working an investigation over the past several weeks into allegations that Bergamo was actively trafficking Fentanyl into the Lewiston and Lapwai communities. After purchasing narcotics from Bergamo in late December and continuing to monitor his travel and other patterns of behavior, detectives obtained enough information last week to apply for a search warrant of his residence in Clarkston.

During a search of his residence, and the vehicle he was driving, detectives located nearly 2000 fentanyl pills and a small quantity of what is believed to be a powder-based heroin substance.

Bergamo was booked into the Asotin County Jail and is expected to be charged with several drug related crimes including delivery and possession with intent to deliver

narcotics. Bergamo is currently facing felony charges in Nez Perce County for similar illegal narcotics-based activity.

The Quad Cities Drug Task force was assisted in this investigation by officers from the Asotin County Sheriff’s Office, Lewiston PD, Clarkston PD, Idaho State Police and the Washington State Patrol.
