PRINCETON, ID – The victim of a Saturday night structure fire in Latah County has been identified. Members of the Potlatch Fire Department and Latah County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 1100 block of McKinneyville Road in Princeton at 9:18 pm.
“The first firefighting units arrived on scene at 9:31 pm. One resident of the home was transported by Life Flight. After the fire was extinguished, a deceased person was located in the debris,” a press release says. “Sheriff’s Office Detectives and a member of the Idaho State Fire Marshall’s office arrived on scene on the morning of January 28th.”
The Spokane Medical Examiner was able to identify the deceased male who was located in the fire debris as John Schraufnagel of Princeton.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Idaho State Fire Marshall.
