Five of the six teams representing north central Idaho advanced to the semi-final round of their respective Idaho State Girl’s Basketball Tournaments in the Treasure Valley.
In the Idaho State 1-A Division II tourney at Nampa High School: Hali Anderson posted 19 points and Ruby Stewart added 12 in leading the Kendrick girls to a 57-24 win over Leadore. The Tigers advance to semi-finals where they’ll face defending state champion Council today (Fri) at 1 p.m. Pacific Time.
Araya Wood scored 24 points and Kaylee Wood had 7 points and 4 steals as Deary downed Mackay 54-43. The Mustangs advance and will meet top-seed Dietrich in a semi-final at 11 a.m. Pacific Time this morning.
Rylee Walters poured in 18 points, but it wasn’t enough as Salmon River fell to Council 71-43. The Savages move into the consolation bracket and will play Leadore tonight at 6 p.m. Pacific.
Qubilah Mitchell’s double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds led the Lapwai girls to 64-27 win over Valley in the Idaho State 1-A Division I tournament at Columbia High School in Nampa. The Wildcats advanced to a semi-final game with Oakley this (Fri) evening at 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, Lexi Schumacher had 26 points and Kylie Schumacher added 20 as the Prairie girls took down Murtaugh 66-54. The Pirates move into the semi-final round where they’ll face top seed Grace today at 4 p.m.
At the Idaho State 2-A tournament in Kuna: Mattie Thacker led a balanced Grangeville attack with 16 points in a 62-43 victory over Kellogg. The top seed Bulldogs will take on North Fremont in the semi-final round this afternoon at 4 p.m. Pacific Time.
