Lewiston Fire Crews Respond to Orchards Blaze

Lewiston firefighters responded to a structure fire on the 900 block of Preston Avenue last (Tue) night in the Lewiston Orchards.

According to a press release from the Lewiston Fire Department, the fire was concentrated in a shop at ServiceMaster Cleaning & Restoration. Neighbors saw flames from the building and reportedly heard explosions.

When crews arrived on scene at around 6:15 p.m., they found the building “significantly involved with fire.” Crews using several hose lines were able to knock down the fire in about 30 minutes and remained on scene for about 2½ hours total.

There were no injuries reported.

The Lewiston Fire Department responded with three engines, three ambulances and three chief officers. Firefighters from the City of Clarkston, Asotin County Fire and Wheatland Fire also responded to the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The contents and structure are valued at an estimated $525,000.
