UPDATE: Eastern State Hospital Escapee and Accomplice were Located and Arrested in Reno, Nevada. 3/8/24
SPOKANE VALLEY, WA – The Spokane Valley Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in finding a 28-year-old Eastern State Hospital patient who reportedly walked away from a local hospital. In 2022, Jamil Fields was found not guilty by reason of insanity in connection with a drive-by shooting in Whitman County. Today at around 1:15 p.m., law enforcement was notified that he walked away from Valley Hospital where he was receiving medical treatment.

At that time, Whitman County Superior Court found that Fields presented a substantial likelihood of committing criminal acts, jeopardizing public safety.
Fields walked away from Valley Hospital, 12606 E Mission Ave, Spokane Valley, this afternoon. He is described as an African American male, approximately 5’08”, thin, with black hair (longer than pictured). He was last seen wearing a green hoodie, red sweatpants, and white shoes.
It is unknown where he may be heading or if he plans to travel back to the Pullman/Colfax area.
