Spokane Man Killed in Crash South of Colton

COLTON, WA – A 72-year-old Spokane man was killed in a collision on State Route 195 near Bauer Road between Colton and Uniontown at around 12:29 p.m. this afternoon. The Washington State Patrol says Leonard Loreen was driving a 2017 Ford transit van southbound when he crossed the center line and collided with a northbound semi.

Loreen, who was wearing a seatbelt, was deceased at the scene.

The driver of the semi, 48-year-old Louis Brenner of Arlington, was transported to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston for injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The agency says drugs and alcohol were not involved in the crash.

The highway was blocked for several hours.
