LEWISTON, ID—The Lewiston Red Lobster on Thain Grade closed its doors unexpectedly today, leaving employees and customers wondering what happened. The seafood restaurant, which has boasted 649 locations, has been financially struggling and is considering filing for bankruptcy, reports say. The local location is just one of at least 48 closed today without notice.
RestaurantEquipment.com is auctioning equipment from Red Lobsters in Lewiston and Silverdale, Washington, and 19 other states. In all, the site says it is auctioning equipment from more than 50 restaurants with a “winner take all” approach—the winning bidder will receive the entire contents of the restaurant(s) they win the bid(s) for. The company says it is the “largest” auction of restaurant equipment ever.
