BOISE, ID – Chad Daybell, who has been on trial for the past two months for the murders of his ex-wife and two of Lori Vallow’s children, has been found guilty of all charges. The jury, which began deliberating yesterday afternoon, delivered its verdict to Judge Steven Boyce at 1:00 p.m.

The 55-year-old Daybell was charged with First-Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit First-Degree Murder, Insurance Fraud, and Grand Theft in connection with the deaths of his ex-wife, Tammy Daybell, and Vallow’s children, 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow, and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan.

A short time after the guilty verdicts were read, Judge Boyce reconvened the courtroom to begin the sentencing phase, which will use the same jury as the murder trial. The State has said it will be seeking the death penalty.

Vallow, 50, was convicted last year of First-Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and Grand Theft and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

In June 2020, Vallow’s children were found buried in a shallow grave on Daybell’s Rexburg, Idaho property following a months-long investigation. They had disappeared the previous September.
