A five-run fifth inning was the difference as the Los Angeles Angels topped the Seattle Mariners 5-1 last (Tue) night at T-Mobile Park.

For the second straight game the Mariner defense committed costly errors that led to four unearned runs for the Angels.

Offensively, the M’s were held to just 3 hits.

Logan Gilbert took the loss for Seattle. The righthander allowed 4 runs – only one earned, on 5 hits with 8 strikeouts in his start.

The Mariners try to avoid being swept today (Wed) in the final game of the series.

First pitch is set for 12:40 with live coverage in the LC Valley on 95.5 FM and AM 950 KOZE and in the upper Clearwater Valley on AM 1300 KLER.

Meanwhile, former Lewis-Clark State slugger Seth Brown homered and doubled in Oakland’s 8-2 win over Houston last (Tue) night in Oakland. The long-ball was Brown’s 8th homer of the season.
