Lewis-Clark State College Baseball was honored as an American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award Winner for the first time in program history on Wednesday. The award, presented by Sports Attack, highlights programs coached by ABCA members that posted a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for the cumulative 2023-24 academic year.

“To be honored by the ABCA with the Team Academic Excellence Award is an outstanding accomplishment,” Head Coach Jake Taylor said. “It is a true testament to the young men in our program that are succeeding at an extremely high level in the community, on the field and in the classroom. We are proud of their success.”

Warrior Baseball finished the 2023-24 school year with a team grade point average of 3.12, highlighted by four 4.0 GPAs and 10 of at least 3.5. Carter Booth and Brandon Cabrera highlighted the academic accomplishments for the team as CSC Academic All-Americans. Both earned 4.0 GPAs and led the team in various statistical categories to earn All-Cascade Conference honors. They are just the third and fourth Warrior Baseball players to earn the award.

Three CCC teams, including Corban and Oregon Tech, made the list.
