Crews have achieved 90 percent containment of the Texas Fire burning near Kendrick in Latah and Nez Perce counties.
According to a news release, the Idaho Department of Lands is assuming command of the blaze. A local Type 4 Incident Command team, along with approximately 50 firefighters will take over suppression strategies.
Mop-up operations will be conducted until the fire is deemed fully contained.
