A trio of LC State Men’s Golfers earned national academic honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America as 2023-24 NAIA Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars. Oscar Behle, Bryden Brown and Alex Navarro each earned the prestigious honor.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. They must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 78.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

“I couldn’t be prouder of these three individuals,” Head Coach Zach Anderson said. “These academic accomplishments are huge for our program. These three are leaders in the classroom, on the course and in their daily life. All three were named All-Cascade Conference due to their success during our season and now All-America Scholars; the epitome of student-athlete.”

Behle, entering his senior year, currently maintains a perfect 4.0 grade point average as a Business major and finished ninth in the Cascade Conference in scoring average (74.4) to earn All-Cascade Conference honors.

Brown held a GPA of 3.38 over the last two years while studying Accounting and had a standout season on the course. The Moscow native won three tournaments and was voted the CCC Golfer of the Week four times, along with one NAIA Golfer of the Week nod. Brown finished fifth in the CC in scoring (73.1) to earn All-CCC honors.

Navarro heads into his senior season as a Sport Management major. He led the Warriors in CCC scoring average with the fourth-best mark in the conference (73.0) to earn all-conference recognition.
