Javier Baez hit an 8th inning 2-run homerun and the Detroit Tigers rallied to beat the Seattle Mariners 2-1 today (Thur), completing a three-game sweep at Comerica Park.
Kenta Maeda got the win for the Tigers as the righthander allowed no runs on just one hit with 5 strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings of relief.
The M’s wasted another strong performance from starter Bryce Miller who got a no decision. The righthander didn’t allow any runs on just 2 hits with 9 strikeouts and no walks over 7 innings.
Seattle continues it’s road trip tomorrow (Fri) when they open a 3-game series in Pittsburgh against the Pirates. First pitch is set for 3:40 p.m. from PNC Park with live coverage in the LC Valley on 95.5 FM and AM 950 KOZE and in the upper Clearwater Valley on AM 1300 KLER.
