Idaho State Police Lt. Colonel Sheldon Kelley to Retire

Idaho State Police Lieutenant Colonel Sheldon Kelley’s is retiring after 27 years of service to the state.

Kelley began his career in 1997 as a resident trooper in Gooding County, and has held pivotal roles in Patrol and investigations, culminating in his recent tenure as Chief of Operations, where he’s overseen statewide law enforcement, Forensic Services, and the Bureau of Criminal Identification.

According to a news release, Kelley achieved impressive milestones throughout his distinguished career, including graduating from the FBI National Academy, Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command, and the FBI Command College.

Colleagues, friends, and community members are invited to celebrate Lt. Colonel Kelley’s career at a retirement celebration on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 2 p.m. Mountain Time at ISP Headquarters, located at 700 South Stratford Drive in Meridian.
