Idaho County Sheriff’s Deputy Scott Sumpter has been named Police Officer of the Year by the American Legion Department of Idaho and the City of Riggins.
In a Facebook post by the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, officials say the honor is a wonderful recognition of Deputy Sumpter’s dedication and hard work in serving the community and the department is incredibly proud to see his commitment and service acknowledged.
The post goes on to say it’s an honor to receive the award and it’s an even bigger honor that Deputy Sumpter was recognized and nominated by members of his community, adding that it’s clear Deputy Sumpter’s efforts have made a significant impact.
