The Idaho State Board of Education will hold its October regular Board meeting on the campus of Lewis-Clark State College (LCSC) this week in Lewiston.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, October 16-17 starting at 9 a.m. Pacific Time both days at LCSE’s Williams Conference Center and will be carried via livestream on LCSC’s YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/@lcstate

The meeting agenda is posted on the State Board of Education’s website: https://boardofed.idaho.gov/event/board-meeting-lewiston-5-2/

Agenda items include:

  • Consider a proposal by Boise State University to create a career technical educator (CTE) cybersecurity program. If approved, the program may lead to other CTE-focused educator preparation proposals to come forward.
  • Consider authorization of a development agreement between Idaho State University and the City of Meridian to begin infrastructure development plans for future expansion of ISU’s Meridian Health Sciences Center.
  • Consider a revision to Board policy III.Z, a policy which “ensures Idaho’s public postsecondary institutions meet the educational and workforce needs of the state through academic planning, alignment, collaboration and coordination of programs.” The revisions include an increased focus on core principles, clarified expectations, and simplified language, and are the result of over a year’s worth of collaborative conversation between a Board-member working group, Board staff, and institutional leadership.
  • The Board will be sitting as the Board of Trustees for Lewis-Clark State College and the meeting will include time for LCSC students, faculty and staff to address the Board. In addition, LCSC President Dr. Cynthia Pemberton will deliver the institution’s annual report to the Board.
