Groundbreaking for the 36th home built by L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity (LCV HFH) will be held at 11 a.m. today (Fri) at 1535 Alder Ave., Lewiston.
The event is open to the public and will also be broadcast live on the local Habitat Facebook page.
When finished, the house will become a home for a family of five, selected through the LCV HFHF application process.
The L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Habitat for Humanity is a faith-based organization that helps lower-income families repair and own homes. Volunteers build the houses with donated materials, which allows them to be sold with low-interest mortgages. Family members put in 250 hours of “sweat equity” per adult so they help work on their own home and other Habitat for Humanity projects.
The L-C Valley Habitat for Humanity is also accepting applications for future Habitat homes that are due by 5 p.m. Nov. 15th to the office at 2200 8th Ave., Lewiston.
