KANSAS CITY, Mo. – LC State Men’s Basketball jumped up three spots to No. 22 in the NAIA after a 3-0 start to the season. The Warriors will be tested this weekend with a pair of contests in Butte, including a matchup with No. 7 Montana Tech.

LC State picked up a win in the season-opener at home against Haskell Indian Nations (Kan.) before hitting the road for Caldwell for the Taco Bell Shootout. The Warriors battled with Dickinson State (N.D.) in a dramatic 81-79 win before rolling past Providence (Mont.) 93-73.

The sophomore duo of Alton Hamilton MaCarhy Morris has been dynamic on both sides of the ball for LC State. In a tight battle with DSU, Hamilton had the best game of his young career with 28 points and 18 rebounds. Morris was not far behind with 23 points and nine rebounds before dropping another 20 against Providence. Hamilton followed up on Saturday with 22 points and 10 rebounds en route to Cascade Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Hamilton is fourth in the NAIA with 13.3 rebounds per game to go with 22.3 points per game. Morris is averaging 19.7 points per game as part of LC State’s 88.3 points per game as a team. Gorden Boykins and Jayceon Smith lead the team with eight assists each.

CCC opponent College of Idaho remained No. 2 with one first-place vote and Oregon Tech dropped two spots to No. 18.
