Lewiston Crews Respond to Apartment Fire

The Lewiston Fire Department responded to an apartment fire around 11:30 yesterday (Tue) morning at 2508 Sixth Avenue.

According to a news release, when crews arrived, smoke was visible from the main floor, and an upstairs neighbor was attempting to extinguish the fire with a garden hose through a window.

Firefighters gained entry through the front door and were able to bring the fire under control after just a fewn minutes. The residents of the apartment were not home at the time of the blaze and no injuries were reported.

The fire caused an estimated $30,000 in damages to the building and its contents, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
