Stage 1 Burn Ban Ends for Asotin, Columbia, Garfield, & Other Counties; Continues for Others

LEWISTON, ID – The Washington State Department of Ecology has lifted the Stage 1 Burn Ban for Asotin, Chelan, Columbia, Douglas, Garfield, Kittitas, Klickitat counties. The ban will continue until further notice for Ferry, Stevens, Pend Oreille, and the Okanogan Valley from Oroville to Malott.

“Stagnant air conditions have improved in parts of central and eastern Washington, but continue in the northern counties,” the department says.

Under a State 1 notification, there is to be no outdoor burning, agricultural burning, or uncertified wood stove use, except when wood stove is the only source of heat.
