Pullman Woman Killed in Collision Near Idaho Border

A Pullman woman was killed following a two-vehicle collision yesterday (Tue) afternoon on State Route 270 near the Idaho border.

According to the Washington State Patrol, 94-year-old Beverly Gearhiser was at the wheel of a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser when she turned onto the highway from Garrison Road at around 3 p.m. and was struck by a 2009 Toyota RAV4 driven by 34-year-old Courtney Midea, of Red Rock, Arizona. Midea and her passenger, 84-year-old Richard Travis of Pullman, were uninjured in the crash. Everyone involved in the collision was wearing a seat belt.

Investigators determined the cause of the crash to be failure to yield.
