Fire destroyed a home in the 6100 block of Dent Bridge Road Saturday night. According to Window on the Clearwater, firefighters from the Twin Ridge Rural Fire District were dispatched to the structure fire just before 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
According to Twin Ridge Captain Tam White when they arrived shortly after the call 2/3 of the roof was on fire and the garage at the back was engulfed. Twin Ridge responded with 3 engines and 2 tenders, along with 13 firefighters. The Orofino Fire Department was called in for mutual aide.
Firefighters were on scene until around 11:30 p.m. and returned at 2 a.m. Sunday when the fire flared. They returned at 8:30 a.m. for mop up.
The cause of the fire has not been determined and the State Fire Marshal has been contacted to investigate.
The family has been in contact with Red Cross and is being cared for by relatives.
