MOSCOW, ID – Latah County Sheriff’s Deputies and Moscow police officers apprehended three juveniles following an early morning high-speed chase. At about 2:45 this morning, officials were provided information by Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police that a vehicle involved in a pursuit in Spokane was seen heading into Latah County.
“Deputies saw the vehicle on US Highway 95 near Potlatch, Idaho, driving south at almost 100 miles per hour. Deputies began pursuing the suspect vehicle, which failed to stop for law enforcement. The suspect vehicle took Deputies on a high-speed pursuit into Moscow, Idaho. Officers from Moscow Police Department joined Latah County Deputies in a joint effort to stop the vehicle. The suspect vehicle was found by police, stopped and unoccupied, on the side of the roadway, near the southern city limits of Moscow,” according to a press release.
The Moscow Police Department used a drone to track where the suspects may have gone.
“Police located several suspects hiding in a nearby shed with the help of Moscow’s drone. Just before 4:00 in the morning, police took two juvenile suspects into custody. A third juvenile suspect was located a short time later and was also taken into custody,” officials say.
The vehicle’s driver is charged with Felony Eluding, Resisting and Obstructing Officers, and Unlawful Entry.
“Thank you to the Moscow Police Department, Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police and all our other law enforcement partners who helped successfully end this high-speed pursuit. We appreciate all you do to keep our communities safe,” the press release adds.
