OROFINO, ID – A 46-year-old Orofino man escaped serious injuries Saturday night when he allegedly drove under the influence and crashed his pickup on Grangemont Road. According to a press release from the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Fusco was driving a 2012 GMC Sierra when he lost control around 10:11 p.m. and crashed at milepost 18.5.
“It was reported that the driver was initially trapped inside the vehicle but managed to free himself before responders arrived on the scene,” officials say.
Fusco was not wearing his seatbelt and sustained minor injuries, for which he was treated and subsequently released. He was cited for misdemeanor driving under the influence and was released at the scene. A private party removed the pickup on Sunday.
