KANSAS CITY, MO – Lewis-Clark State Women’s Basketball enters the weekend ranked No. 24 in the NAIA after the latest coaches poll on Wednesday.
The Warriors went 2-2 since the previous poll with losses to No. 4 Southern Oregon and now-No. 23 Oregon Tech. LC State bounced back to defeat Evergreen State (Wash.) and Northwest (Wash.) and will host Warner Pacific (Ore.) and Multnomah (Ore.) this weekend.
LC State leads the Cascade in blocked shots per game (5.1), assists per game (18.3), steals per game (13.6) and turnover margin (8.30). The Warriors are second in scoring offense (76.2), scoring defense (55.4), scoring margin (20.8) and field goal percentage (.482). Ellie Sander leads individually in steals per game (2.9) and Sitara Byrd is fourth (2.6), while Darian Herring leads in total blocked shots (56).
Sander is fourth in the conference in scoring (14.3). Mataya Green is second in field goal percentage (.577) with Herring third (.568) and Sander in fourth (.559). Herring is third in assists per game (4.0).
Nationally, the Warriors rank fifth in the NAIA in blocked shots per game, 10th in steals per game and 11th in assists per game. Herring leads the NAIA in blocks this season and Green ranks 17th in field goal percentage.
Southern Oregon remained undefeated and ranked No. 4 while Oregon Tech joined the top 25 at No. 23.
