Gasoline prices in Idaho and across the country continue to rise.

According to the American Automobile Association, today’s average price for a gallon of regular gas in Idaho is $3.22, which is three cents more than a week ago, 17 cents more than a month ago, and 22 cents more than a year ago. Idaho drivers are paying the 7th-highest average price for gasoline in the nation. The U.S. average currently sits at $3.16 per gallon. That’s about two cents more than a week ago and five cents more than a month ago.

The West Texas Intermediate benchmark for crude oil is currently trading near $71 per barrel, which is $1 less than a week ago, nearly $7 less than a month ago, and $8 less than a year ago. AAA says if the cost of crude remains cheaper, it could help stabilize gas prices this week.

Motorists in Coeur d’Alene are paying the highest average price for a gallon of regular gas in Idaho at $3.26, while Franklin has the state’s lowest average price at $3.05. Lewiston’s average price is currently $3.22.
