The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office is urging the public to use caution when traveling on area roads on the Palouse.
Many roads in the county have experienced washouts, are covered with debris or are just impassable at this time. Conditions are not expected to change much over the next 24-48 hours with the combination of melting snow and heavy rain.
If possible stay off low lying roads next to streams and waterways except for necessary travel.
