A portion of U.S. Highway 95 is closed to due to a landslide that collapsed a portion of the highway between New Meadows and Council.
According to the Idaho Transportation Department, local traffic only is permitted between Council and Glendale and between New Meadows and Pine Ridge. No truck or trailer turnarounds are available between Council and New Meadows and no detour exists to bypass the slide area.
Regional traffic should use State Highway 55 as an alternate route.
A timeline for repairs has not been released.
