Some pedophiles can now be put to death in Idaho. Last week Governor Brad Little signed House Bill 380 and yesterday he made a public statement about it. In a press release, he said “The sexual abuse of children is sickening and evil, and perpetrators convicted of these crimes deserve the ultimate punishment.”
Little went on to connect the fact that Idaho is also now the only state to make death by firing squad the main method of execution. He said “I commend my partners in the Legislature for strengthening Idaho’s already powerful ‘tough on crime’ reputation among the states.”
The death penalty in House Bill 380 is for pedophiles charged with aggravated lewd conduct with children 12 and younger.
