Governor Brad Little’s pen was bus Wednesday, signing 19 bills into law, but ink was absent from the bill removing pop and candy from SNAP eligibility. House Bill 109 would request a waiver from the federal government to remove, among other things, soda pop from food-stamp eligibility. There’s no word if he’s planning to sign it in the future, but the bill is on his desk and he has until the 7th to sign it.
Little did sign Senate bill 1149, which adds a section to current Idaho law that could allow the state to seize property illegally owned by foreign governments or foreign state-controlled enterprises.
He also put pen to paper on Senate Bill 1153, introducing a commemorative license plate recognizing the commissioning of the U.S. Navy’s ship named the “USS Idaho”.
Contractors and homeowners may be excited to hear that Senate Bill 1164 went through. It requires local governments to handle building permits within 10 days.
