Lewis-Clark State College’s name may soon be a thing of the past. The Idaho State Board of Education unanimously approved the change to Lewis-Clark State University at their meeting today. This does not mean their name will change right away. Lewis Clark State College can now take the proposal to the Idaho State Legislature.
In the board’s agenda, it says the name change to “University” will help relieve some confusion as to the size of the academic institution. Right now they say it leads people to believe it’s a community college instead of having 4-year and graduate programs.
